Strategy& Recruiting and Interview Process
Plan a Strategy& application and prepare for office-specific assessments, experience questions and strategy case interviews.
Quick answer
This guide covers Strategy& UK Associate and Summer Internship recruitment for the 2026–2027 cycle, with explicit warnings where other territories differ. Strategy& is part of PwC, and each territory runs its own applications. As of 18 July 2026, the Strategy& UK FAQ says Associate and Summer Internship applications typically open from September; candidates must check the live PwC vacancy for the new cycle's exact status and deadline.
| Item | Strategy& UK |
|---|---|
| Main routes | Associate, Summer Internship, first-year supported pathways and experienced Consultant |
| Typical opening | Associate and Summer Internship applications from September |
| Application | CV and personal statement, followed by an online assessment |
| First round | Two back-to-back interviews: one unstructured and one structured case |
| Later rounds | Second round; some experienced hires may have a third |
| Application limit | One PwC UK job within a six-month window |
| Reapplication | Six months after the previous unsuccessful application was submitted |
Roles available
The UK graduate and intern page describes full-time Associate roles, Summer Internships and supported first-year pathways; the UK FAQ says experienced Consultant vacancies open as required. Outside the UK, candidates must use the relevant territory's Strategy& or PwC careers site.
Eligibility requirements
Strategy& UK says there is no single standard candidate profile and candidates do not need a business background. It does look for a strong academic record, intellectual curiosity, motivation and the ability to work on complex problems. The live vacancy controls degree, graduation, grade, language and work-authorisation requirements.
The UK FAQ does not publish one permanent graduation window or sponsorship promise for every role. Treat those items as vacancy-specific.
Application deadlines and timeline
Associate applications typically open from September for a start in the following September. Summer Internship applications normally open at the same time for the following summer. Experienced Consultant roles open on a rolling, needs-based basis.
Strategy& UK does not publish a permanent closing date in its general FAQ, and its recruiting team says it cannot provide dates beyond those on the careers page. Candidates should monitor the live vacancy rather than relying on a previous year's deadline.
How to apply

Recruitment process
Application and online assessment
Candidates submit a CV and personal statement and then complete an online assessment. Strategy& does not name one permanent assessment provider in the FAQ.
First-round interviews
The first round normally contains two back-to-back interviews, virtually or at the London office. One is an approximately 45-minute unstructured interview combining background and motivation questions with a case. The other is an approximately 45-minute structured case using a slide pack, including around ten minutes to review information before discussing recommendations.
Later rounds
Successful candidates attend a second round, either later on the same in-person assessment day or on another day. Some experienced hires may complete a third round. The firm does not publish one global response time.
Office selection and mobility
This process applies to the UK. Other Strategy& territories have their own websites, deadlines and processes. An application to PwC UK does not create an application to another territory, and the one-job/six-month restriction covers PwC UK.
Reapplication policy
The Strategy& UK FAQ says unsuccessful candidates may reapply for a PwC UK role six months after the previous application was submitted.
Visa sponsorship and work authorisation
The general Strategy& UK FAQ does not promise sponsorship for every role. Check the current PwC vacancy and UK work-authorisation guidance. Do not infer the policy from another PwC territory.
Common application mistakes
- Applying to both PwC UK and Strategy& within the same six-month window.
- Uploading a generic cover letter when the process requests a personal statement.
- Assuming September is a guaranteed closing date rather than a typical opening period.
- Applying through another territory's PwC portal.
- Treating the two first-round case formats as identical.
- Reapplying before six months have passed from submission.
