Quick answer

This guide covers BCG's global consulting recruitment for students, graduates and experienced professionals in the 2026–2027 cycle. BCG does not operate one worldwide student deadline or assessment. The office, candidate route and vacancy determine the role title, eligibility, documents, assessment and interview sequence.

BCG's global interview-process page describes application, skill interview, case interview and team interview. Local processes may also use the CCA, Casey/Online Case Experience, or a numerical or cognitive test. As of 18 July 2026, opportunities are open in some markets, while BCG's US 2027 Associate page says its Associate and Summer Associate deadlines have passed.

Roles available

Student consulting routes commonly include full-time Associate roles and internships such as Summer Associate or Visiting Associate. Programme length and eligible study year vary. For example, BCG's UK international-opportunities page describes summer internships of roughly 8–12 weeks and year-round Visiting Associate opportunities in some destination offices; this does not establish the same programme in every country.

Experienced professionals should use BCG's job search because level and practice depend on prior experience and current business need.

Eligibility requirements

Confirmed

  • BCG welcomes undergraduate and non-MBA master's candidates from all fields for its US Associate route.
  • Local office pages and vacancies set graduation windows, academic documents, language requirements and experience thresholds.
  • Internship eligibility is often tied to study year, but the precise rule is local.

Unclear or office-dependent

  • Minimum grades or GPA.
  • Whether a cover letter is required.
  • Language fluency and existing work authorisation.
  • Whether MBA and advanced-degree candidates use the same application window.

Application deadlines and timeline

There is no global BCG deadline. BCG's US page states that its 2027 full-time Associate and Summer Associate applications are closed. Other offices recruit on fixed dates, multiple intakes or a rolling basis. BCG's Switzerland application page, for example, says consulting applications are accepted year-round and recommends applying at least six months before the preferred start date.

Timing pointCandidate action
Opening and deadlineUse the current local page or vacancy, including its time zone
AssessmentComplete within the invitation window; some US candidates receive 48 hours for the CCA
Later online caseIn the US Associate route, selected candidates may receive it about two weeks after the deadline
Interviews and startOffice- and programme-specific

Historical deadlines should be labelled as historical, not used as estimates without warning.

How to apply

  1. Select the country, office and candidate route on BCG Careers.
  2. Check the official title, graduation window, language requirements and application status.
  3. Create or update a BCG profile.
  4. Upload the requested documents and confirm office preferences.
  5. Submit once and monitor both the candidate portal and email for assessment instructions.

For the US Associate route, BCG's official opportunity page instructs candidates to confirm their top two office preferences and keep those preferences consistent when submitting multiple eligible applications in the same period.

Recruitment process

Application review

BCG evaluates the submitted profile against the local role. It does not publish one worldwide response time.

Online assessment

The name in the invitation controls. The CCA is an SHL-based cognitive and behavioural assessment used in the US Associate process. Casey/OCE is an online business case used in certain markets or for selected candidates. Other offices publish numerical, logical or cognitive tests. The Potential Test and Pymetrics should not be assumed current unless the invitation explicitly names them.

Interviews

BCG's global careers site describes skill, case and team interviews. The order, number, duration and delivery method are local. Some processes use two rounds; others combine an online case with live interviews.

Offer and checks

Successful candidates receive local offer, start-date and screening instructions. No global application-to-offer duration is published.

Office selection and mobility

Office-preference limits differ. Listing an office may carry language or work-authorisation requirements, and BCG can use the preference order to determine location interest. Do not assume a rejected application transfers automatically to another office or country.

Reapplication policy

BCG does not publish one global waiting period. Some assessment results may be reused within a local process, but candidates should not assume that a CCA or online-case result transfers across countries or cycles. Ask the recruiting team when the vacancy is silent.

Visa sponsorship and work authorisation

Visa support is local. BCG's UK international-opportunities page says support may be available for certain destination offices but cannot guarantee visa approval. This does not mean every BCG vacancy sponsors. Use the live listing and office guidance.

Common application mistakes

  • Using a deadline or assessment from another office.
  • Applying to the wrong student route or graduation window.
  • Calling every BCG assessment “Casey” or “the Potential Test.”
  • Changing office preferences inconsistently across concurrent US applications.
  • Assuming a cover letter or transcript is optional everywhere.
  • Treating an international-opportunity programme as proof of visa sponsorship.

Frequently asked questions

Can I apply from any academic discipline?

The US Associate route explicitly welcomes all fields. Other offices set their own eligibility, so verify the local listing.

How many offices can I choose?

There is no global limit. The current US Associate process uses two office preferences.

Which BCG assessment will I take?

Only the invitation confirms this. Depending on office and route, it may be CCA, Casey/OCE, a cognitive or numerical test, or no published pre-interview test.

Is a cover letter required?

It depends on the office. Follow the application form rather than a global checklist.

Are applications rolling?

Some are; many campus routes use fixed deadlines. The local vacancy is authoritative.

How long does recruiting take?

BCG does not publish a universal duration. Assessment and interview timing varies by office and cycle.
