Quick answer

There is no single global McKinsey, BCG, Bain or consulting application deadline. Firms recruit by office, role, degree programme and candidate type. Some postings close on a fixed date; some offices accept applications throughout the year; others close once positions fill.

This tracker was reviewed on 18 July 2026. Treat it as a route to the authoritative source, not a substitute for the vacancy.

How to track your own deadlines

Create one row for every role—not merely every firm:

FieldExample
FirmBCG
OfficeLondon
Role and candidate typeAssociate, graduate
Posting URLDirect role link
Opening dateDate first observed
Closing date and time zoneExact portal wording
Rolling?Yes, no or not stated
DocumentsCV, transcript, cover letter if required
AssessmentOnly what the posting or invitation confirms
StatusResearching, drafting, submitted, assessment, interview
Last verifiedDate you checked the source

Set reminders before the deadline for transcript requests, references and document review.

Fixed deadline versus rolling recruitment

For a fixed deadline, quality matters more than submitting weeks early unless the firm says applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. For rolling recruitment, earlier submission can preserve availability, but only submit once the application is accurate and competitive.

“Open until filled” is not an invitation to delay. Equally, do not rush an incomplete application solely because a role opened that morning.

Common deadline mistakes

  • Assuming a US campus date applies globally.
  • Confusing the job-posting date with the closing date.
  • Missing the time zone.
  • Tracking the firm but not the specific office and role.
  • Reusing a prior-year date without verifying it.
  • Waiting for the deadline before requesting transcripts.
  • Treating an event-registration deadline as the job deadline.
  • Ignoring the separate assessment-completion deadline after applying.

Preparation timeline

Six or more months before applying

Research roles, build relevant evidence and begin consulting networking. Draft the core consulting resume.

Two to three months before applying

Confirm likely recruiting windows, request transcripts, refine the resume and prepare any required cover letter. Begin assessment and case interview preparation early.

Final two weeks

Re-check the live posting, complete application questions, verify files and submit with enough time to resolve portal problems.

Update methodology

MCC includes a deadline only when it can link to a current official firm source. Because local pages change, this article avoids aggregating dates from anonymous spreadsheets or old forum posts. A broader alert product would require a maintained source registry, scheduled checks and an editorial owner.
